Tasks of professional activity:
- apply the knowledge of humanitarian, environmental, social and legal, economic sciences, physics and higher mathematics in all fields of activity;
- develop data structures and algorithms for solving problems, carry out their software implementation, maintenance of information systems and networks;

Material and technical base:
Computer classes are equipped with modern equipment and software that meet all the requirements of training IT-specialists.
There are specialized laboratories:
- Laboratory of radio assembly practice (building B, room 121);
- Laboratory «Security of Mobile Systems and Networks» (Building B, Room 127);
- Educational and Scientific Laboratory "Security of wireless networks and building cryptosystems" of the STC PIB. As part of the implementation of the Strategy for the transformation of AUE into a research-type university until 2025, for the high-quality implementation of scientific projects, as well as the development of research and development of students, the laboratory was transferred to the management of the Scientific and Technical Center "Problems of Information Security named after Omar Turganbek" (STC PIB) (Building B, Room 311)
- Laboratory of Information Security Programming – training center of the company «Doctor Web» (Building B, Room 407);
- The Scientific and Technical Center "Problems of Information Security" named after Omar Turganbek (STC PIB) was established at the Institute of Information Technologies, headed by R. Sh. Berdibayev, Candidate of Political Sciences, Academician of the Main Institute of Information Technologies (Building B, Room 411);
- Laboratory of information and communication security (building B, room 414);
- Laboratory of Network Security technologies (Building B, Room 416);
- Laboratory of technical means of information protection (building B, room 420).
