AUPET college at the Non-profit JSC "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev" was established in 2017 as a structural unit at Non-profit JSC "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications" on the basis of license AB 0137445. Date of issue of the license is 04.08.2010 on educational activities.

In connection with the renaming of the University in 2020, the License for educational activities was renewed. License number is KZ80LAA00018161. It was issued on May 05, 2020 with all applications.
In 2021, due to the change in the classifier, the annexes to the license were reissued.
In June 2020, AUPET College passed institutional and specialized accreditation by the Independent Kazakhstani Accreditation Center.
In the fall of 2020, annexes to the license for working specialties of qualifications: 090601 2 Lineman for boiler equipment and 130601 2 Electrician for telecommunication networks and systems were received.
Classes are conducted by full-time teachers and faculty of AUPET using the entire laboratory and material base of the university.
College students use the library, sports halls, and the university's assembly hall. The hostel is available.
In the educational process, 6 television auditoriums, 10 computer labs with an Internet connection, the equipment of a radio assembly workshop, the CISCO regional academy at AUPET and other laboratories of the university are involved.
College students actively participate in the work of sports sections and clubs on the interests of the university, win prizes in competitions.
In 2020, there was the first graduation of 26 students of the AUPET College. All of them were employed. Some students continued their studies at the NJSC "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev" on reduced educational programs.
The contingent of the college is currently 466 students.
