On February 26, 2022, the Spartakiad among the teaching staff and employees was held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. "Dear Colleagues! I am glad to welcome you all. We are not professional athletes, however, we understand that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Such a popular Latin expression has become even more relevant during a global pandemic. Sport is important in life, as it strengthens not only health, but also immunity. Victory is not so important, but only friendship is more important!” Saule Sagintayeva, the Rector of AUPET, made a welcoming speech.

This year the Games were held in 5 disciplines - mini-football, badminton, chess, volleyball, tennis. Many participants came with their families. “It is gratifying to see that you have brought your children to the Spartakiad. I wish you all to enjoy the event, and I also wish you success in everything. Go ahead!” said Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Work Serik Makhmutov.

Participants showed sports spirit, supported each other and competed for prizes. At the end the winners were determined. Zarema Abdullina, Director of the Department “Youth Policy”, awarded them. “You are the first to open the Spartakiad in 2022! I want to congratulate you all on this. We overcame our own laziness and came on a day off just to enjoy the game. I wish you happiness and prosperity. You will go down in history!” she said.
