On April 13, 2022, the Department for language studies of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev organized the final stage of the University Olympiad in the Kazakh language. It was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Kazakh poet, literary critic, Turkologist, publicist, teacher, translator, public figure Akhmet Baitursynov.
At the final stage of the Olympiad, students showed a video about the power of language, speech, oratory, the power of aitys, the role of the state language. They competed in solving control questions about the life and work of Akhmet Baitursynov. A comprehensive review of the life and work of the great Kazakh figure was made. The Rector, staff and facultyof the Almaty University of power Engineering and Telecommunications, the Department for Language Studies constantly pay attention to the preservation and promotion of Kazakh spiritual wealth. As Mukhtar Auezov said: “The Kazakh school, opened by Akhan, the native language of Akhan, the embassy motto in Akhan literature is “Forty Examples”, “Masa”. The work of the newspaper "Kazakh" for the Kazakhs, his tireless efforts in the field of art, education and politics, history will never forget. He was portrayed as an enemy of his people, who devoted his life to faithful service. However, they did not succeed. Slander is a cloud, truth is the sun, time has been reborn and the light of truth has shone. Akhan, Akhmet Baitursynov, a patriot who loved his people, again succeeded with his people.” On the eve of the 150th anniversary of the great figure, we glorified the name of Akhmet Baitursynov.
According to the results of the Olympiad, the winners were:
I place - Kadyrov Shakir (SISa-21-12);
II place - Diana Syzdykova (RET-21-8), Myrzalbek Omar (RET-21-8);
3rd place - Kargasekova Karina (SIS-21-10), Kemelzhan Zhan (EEa-21-1), Aidana Usmanbekova (EE-21-22).
The competition committee presented diplomas to the winners and thanked all the students who took part in the Olympiad and showed interest.
Thus, the Olympiad in the form of a two-stage intellectual competition was an educational event that made it possible to popularize the Kazakh language and literature among young people and identify students with higher language skills.
