Within the framework of multilateral cooperation with the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev, specialists from Schneider Electric took workshops to improve the qualifications of teachers of the Department “Automation and Control”.
The development of the material and technical base, taking into account the labor market trends and the achievements of world science and technology, is the most important direction in the activities of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeyev. The opening of the “Schneider Electric Competence Center” for Industrial Automation was one of the clearest proofs of this work. The center was created on the basis of the Department “Automation and Control”. 12 benches equipped with modern automation equipment and software from Schneider Electric, the world leader in providing digital solutions for industrial automation, were specially designed and manufactured for the center.
The Modicon M241 and Modicon M340 controllers form the basis of the benches. They are the latest developments of the company, surpassing existing analogues in their functional and technical characteristics.
“The Modicon M241 and Modicon M340 controllers only went into production last year. AUPET students have the opportunity to gain knowledge and consolidate their practical skills, working on new equipment. It will be widely used in industrial automation systems for a long period of time, - said Anton Tsapenko, director of the Industrial Automation Department of Schneider Electric.
For a better and faster introduction of benches and software into the educational process, Schneider Electric has planned a series of workshops to improve the qualifications of teachers of the Department “Automation and Control”. One of them - "Programming the Modicon M241 and Modicon M340 controllers for automation and control systems" has already been carried out. The workshop was attended by the teachers of the department, who teach in all three departments of the educational program "Automation and Control" - in Kazakh, Russian and English.
As a result of the workshop, 11 teachers of the Department “Automation and Control” received certificates from Schneider Electric: Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Aksholpan Kopesbaeva; associate professors, PhD doctors Gulmira Bazil and Yerbol Orakbaev; senior teachers Larisa Rudakova, Asem Ibrasheva, Elena Kim, Nurgazy Kalyshev, Gulmira Iskakova, Zhanar Lukmanova; teachers Indira Kalysheva and Asemai Kuanyshbaeva.
