            Dear applicants, The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies trains highly qualified personnel for the strategically important energy industry, which is the basis of the country’s life support. The educational programs of the institute are leaders in training among technical universities in Central Asia due to the fact that:

ABOUT INSTITUTE

The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies trains specialists in the field of generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity and thermal energy, as well as those in demand in virtually any field of human activity.

The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies of the Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after Gumarbek Daukeev graduates specialists who have the ability for self-development and leadership, the ability to act outside the box in the changing conditions of the modern world, who are able to flexibly adapt to changes in various fields of activity and manage the process, with a well-formed entrepreneurial mindset.

The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies was formed in August 2023 by merging the Institutes of Thermal Power Engineering and Control Systems and Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The institute has a rich history that dates back more than 40 years.

In 1975, the Almaty Energy Institute (AEI) was formed, in which the Electric Power and Thermal Power Engineering faculties were opened.

Currently, the Institute of Energy and Green Technologies employs 137 teachers, including:

Each department produces and trains highly qualified specialists for the production, transmission, distribution and consumption of electricity, transmission, distribution, conversion, use of thermal energy, as well as for the most important and promising areas of the economy, specialists in the development and enforcement of compliance with the requirements of regulatory and technical documentation in areas of life safety and environmental protection to ensure safety in general.

The departments of the institute host 42 educational and research centers and laboratories equipped with modern electrical equipment and laboratory stands from Siemens (Germany), ABB (Switzerland), Schneider Electtic (France), SATEC (Israel), Legrand (France), Aries LLP (RF), Alageum (Kazakhstan), Parma (RF), USAID (USA) and others.

Under the academic mobility program, students, master's and doctoral students are given the opportunity to study and undergo internships at universities in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and leading universities in Russia.
